The U.S./European/Australian Alliance is a collaborative effort to accelerate CLL research. Prominent leaders in the research community are working together in areas ripe for exploration and integration. The Alliance covers five treatment concepts in CLL and is guided by an Advisory Council. Members of the Alliance convene twice a year to discuss ongoing projects and new research. Over $14.4 million has been awarded in Alliance grants.
In the fall of 2016, CLL Global initiated an ambitious new round of Alliance grant funding, committing $1.5 million dollars per Working Group to support clinicians and scientists doing cutting-edge CLL research. The first such group to receive this funding was the Microenvironment Working Group, headed by Dr. Nicholas Chiorazzi at the Feinstein Institute for Medical Research, Northwell Health, in Manhasset, New York.
